Intel no longer focus on the development of android

The world chip giant, Intel, seems to really want to end their adventure in the world of Android. The company has just announced that they will no longer focus on Google's operating system, particularly those associated with smartphones. It could be, as the impact of Intel's statement, will slow down the development of Android x86.


Intel is already beforehand stating that they no longer produce the Atom chip for smartphones. Without the device with Atom basis, of course Android x86 becomes less necessary, because other chip manufacturers generally use ARM base in their chips for Android devices. It also will make its Atom-based Android devices will no longer get an update to the new version of the OS.

Instead of Android, Intel seems to be glancing other operating systems that are also in the hands of Google, Chrome OS. Intel stated that they would work together with Google to develop a device with the operating system. Intel also said that the cooperation with Google will also be present in the form of development of the IOT.

Related to their less successful in smartphones, including Android, it could be caused by Intel could be said to be a late entry into the market. They had just begun to focus on developing chips for smartphones in 2011, while their competitors are mostly already much longer to put the focus on the smartphone.
